Notifications
Notifications collect workspace activity that needs your attention: mentions, comments, shares, invitations, reminders, and connector-driven notices.
Notification Center
Open Notifications from the sidebar, the bell, or /notifications.
From there you can:
- filter by state or type
- open the related object, comment, share, or invitation
- mark the visible set as read
- review direct shares and workspace invitations without leaving the app
Workspace invitation notifications open the same review flow used by the workspace switcher, so you can accept or decline in-app.
Comments And Mentions
Use @name in comments or workspace chat to mention a member. Aurora creates in-app notifications that reopen the right object or comment context when possible.
New comments on shared objects can also notify collaborators who still have access, including direct-share recipients, while avoiding duplicate notifications to the author or people already mentioned.
Direct Shares
Direct object shares can notify recipients in-app, by email, or both depending on workspace and account preferences. Senders see a generic success state, even if an address is already a member or pending, to avoid exposing account state.
Email Reminders
Task reminders are evaluated server-side for AuroraCloud workspaces. Set a due date/time on a task and configure reminder behavior in Settings → Preferences → Notifications.
Reminder timing uses your saved timezone:
- date-only due dates are treated as due by the end of that local day
- timed due dates use the wall-clock time you entered
Digests And Privacy
Notification preferences include:
- direct-share delivery settings
- mention/share digest cadence
- collaboration-invite email opt-in
- suspicious-login email controls for new devices and broad new network areas
Turning off suspicious-login emails only mutes the email. Aurora still records the underlying security event in account-security history.
Calendar And Connector Notices
Calendar connection and connector activity can also surface notifications. Calendar overlays may include Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, CalDAV, public iCal feeds, and connector-backed bridge events when those providers are configured.
