Daily notes

A daily note is a page automatically created for each day. It's a lightweight journal, scratch pad, or meeting log that keeps your day-to-day writing separate from your permanent knowledge base.

Opening today's note

Click Daily notes in the sidebar, or press ⌘D.

A new note is created automatically for today if one doesn't exist yet.

Use the ← → arrows at the top of a daily note to move to the previous or next day's note.

What to write in daily notes

Daily notes work well for:

  • Morning brain-dumps and priorities
  • Meeting notes (link back to the project page)
  • Quick captures throughout the day
  • End-of-day reviews

Linking from daily notes

Use @ to link from a daily note to any other page. Those links appear as backlinks on the linked page, so you can see every day you mentioned a topic.

Tasks in daily notes

Tasks created inside a daily note are linked to that note and default to the note's date as their due date. They also appear in the global Tasks board and calendar view.
