Writing pages
The AuroraDocs editor is built on TipTap. It's a block-based editor — every piece of content is a block that can be moved, transformed, and referenced.
Starting to write
Click anywhere on a page and start typing. Press Enter to create a new paragraph block.
Slash commands
Press / to open the block insertion menu. Start typing to filter. Use arrow keys to navigate, Enter to insert.
/heading → Heading 1, 2, or 3

/table → Table
/callout → Callout
/math → Math block (KaTeX)
/toggle → Toggle block
/columns → Column layout
/embed → Page embed

Formatting toolbar
Select any text to show the formatting toolbar. Options include: Bold, Italic, underline, strikethrough, Code, link, highlight, comments, and AI actions when configured.
Drag and drop
Hover over any block to reveal the drag handle (⠿) on the left. Drag to reorder blocks anywhere on the page.
Block actions
Right-click any block (or click the ··· menu) to:
- Turn into a different block type
- Copy block link (
((blockId))reference) - Duplicate
- Delete
Focus mode
Press ⌘\ to hide the sidebar and all UI chrome. Press it again to return.
Foldable headings
Click the arrow next to any heading to collapse its content. Useful for long documents.
Block zoom
Click any heading and press ⌘⇧. to zoom into it — the heading becomes the page root and a breadcrumb trail shows where you are.
Table of contents
A table of contents based on your headings floats on the right side of wide screens. Click any entry to jump to that section.
Ask and Intelligence
Use the right-panel Ask tab (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+A) to ask questions about the current page. Ask attaches the page, block references, and properties as context. Open Intelligence from the sidebar for longer document or workspace questions when AI is enabled.
Presentation and edgeless modes
Pages can be opened in presentation mode when you want to present a document without the normal editing chrome. Canvas and edgeless-style thinking live best in Canvas, where notes, cards, frames, connectors, and mind-map-like layouts can be arranged spatially.
Cover images
- Click Add cover at the top of a page.
- Upload an image, generate one with AI, pick from presets, or reuse a shared workspace asset.
- Drag vertically to reposition the focal point.
